Value

Always used to tell my wife, yea we might be able to afford something, but think of it in terms of would you be willing to go to work X hours in order to have it. Valid approach in my mind as it ultimately meant one had to work longer before retiring.

Now I have two small kids and between work and them things are far too busy. Have not lectured my wife on value considerations for several years, but I still follow the rule and even cost out the value of my time in deciding whether or not to buy something that makes life more efficient. I'm definitely an accountant.

I've had the Sentra three years now and only one small problem. Hope it continues to do o.k. as if it dies my wife will stick me with her car and buy a mini-van.

Regards,

Jeff

Joe,
I've had 2 Sentras: an '85 which I drove 165K miles and then gave it to my son who still has it. It now has about 300K on it. I still drive my '92 which just turned 140K. I had 2 problems with the '85, fuel pump and starter. No problems at all with the '92. They did have a recall for the fuel pump on the '92 and replaced it at 25K even though I had not had a problem. Still gets > 30 mpg.
