chic...whether you get in at the top or bottom, matters not....the experience of how market dynamics can change will benefit you.... remember not to look at any equity market as a "point in time".....things change swiftly and even in a subtle fashion....by the time many "discover" the "static point", that point has been replaced... if you are a student of history, then you must conclude that economies tend not to shrink...they grow in tandem with population and demand....

read history, it is important, but try not to negate those that were part of the history that you reference, for they lived first hand what you are trying to better understand...
