Yep, that's what I meant. Further more, there is no way for any newly minted retired person can live off tech stocks unless they take profit when the sun is shining. I know what the thinking is. I'll hold then sell some now and then to live off. If they are going to do that they are in fact and closet traders and they should understand the movements on a macro sense. Tech stocks are not DOW stocks, no div. wild swings, cyclical in nature. Sure you could write CC, but unless you understand the movement of the market, you will get called away with all the movement we have now. The above problem should be painfully obvious by what happen this year. Take the PC sector. Think of some body that bought in long ago. They are now sitting on money that has shrunk and is now dead, unless they took profit when the sun was shinning to diversify, they will selling for day to day living expenses right at the bottom. You have to make hay when the sun shines.
