Gemplus pushes back listing of shares

PARIS, Dec 8 (Reuters) - Smart card technology group Gemplus (NasdaqNM:GEMP - news) said on Friday the introduction of its shares on the market had been postponed again because of a delay in registering the stock for U.S. trading.

The company, which on Sunday announced the listing would be pushed back to Friday from Wednesday of this week, said the shares would begin trading at the open on Monday, December 11 at the latest. It said there was still a possibility the stock could start trade on Friday.

On Thursday, Gemplus priced its public offering at six euros per share. The stock is to trade in Paris and on the U.S. Nasdaq.
