no, i'm not. here's why. i have nothing to protect. i have no capital. (except for my IRA, and at this time datek does not allow options trades in IRA accounts - that may change soon)

if i had considerable capital (enough for income) invested in QQQ shares i would consider puts as a hedge. but during this current 52 week low market environment i'd be lightening up on downside insurance.

(when you say "hedge" i'm assuming you're talking about protection as opposed to buying puts on speculation for profit.)
