No one can serious contend that Jeep quality even approaches that of the superlative Acura. Jeep ranks among the absolute worst. As for total cost, you must include depreciation - a huge factor. That makes nominally cheaper US cars more expensive than comparable import models, especially Acuras and Lexus. Your happy experience must be counted as a bizarre anomaly. btw, the new Acura MDX blows the doors off any Jeep model.
