Algore says he is for campaign reform, yet when raising funds (Some 3 milliion) he does not reveal his donors or limit the amount that each may contribute. This according to government watch dog group Common Cause.

In contrast the Bush/Cheny fund rasing is limited to $5,000 per person and it may not come from any corporate entity. Also all donations can be obtained on their website.

Similarly, there are high hopes in conservative circles that a Bush Justice Department would
back policies that would block Oregon's physician-assisted suicide law. On the campaign trail,
Bush promised to outlaw the use of controlled substances for assisted suicide, which would have
the practical effect of nullifying the Oregon law.

Republicans are down to one Senator on the West Coast - Smith of Oregon. More talk like this and they will have none.

Ellen

I always thought the best barometer of Bush catering to the "right-wing" religious groups was when he declined to interfere in the execution of the woman in Texas who was a "born-again" Christian. ?
