Ericsson unveils its first i-mode phone By Reuters staff 07 December 2000 Swedish telecoms equipment maker Ericsson said on Thursday it was launching its first i-mode mobile phone in Japan for Japanese NTT-DoCoMo's Internet service, which has more than 15 million subscribers. I-mode is a mobile Internet connection offering services such as e-mail, e-commerce and banking and enabling users to download data such as maps, weather forecasts and games.
