It seems these things are never truly complete. Anyway, I have another cute story. Nothing like the tearjerkers some have recently posted, but here goes. My wife reported that her Mr. Coffee had crashed. I took it apart to attempt to fix it, but after observing the guts of that sucker, there was no way I was going to reassemble it. After I showed it to my wife, she hit me on the shoulder for showing her how nasty it looked. The insides were really nasty. I told my daughter that if she would take me to Wal-Mart I would buy a new one. (I don't drink coffee, but the rest of the family does.) I figured my daughter would enjoy taking me for a ride in her "new" car. Wrong, She said, "Give me the money, and I'll get it". Before she left, she asked, "What if I have trouble or get in an accident"? (She was asking to take my cell phone) I answered, "If you have trouble, a policeman can call". She left and was gone longer than I expected, but not too long. When she returned, she relayed this story: She left her lights on when she went in the store. When she came back, she had trouble getting the car started. She finally got the car started and pulled out of the parking lot. Evidently the car stalled at the first red light, which is on a slight rearward slope. Again, evidently, when the light turned green the car rolled rearward when she released the brake to accelerate . The car rolled and bumped the car behind her. She got out and assured there was no damage to either car and attempted to restart the car. Who should arrive but a policeman. He scared her because she thought he was going to give her a ticket. She was distraught and excited. He calmed her and asked her to give the car a little gas while attempting to start it. It started fine. The problem had nothing to do with the battery, but with throttle position. Since she had been driving my truck and my wifes car, which are still relatively new, there is no need to depress the accelerater. But with her car, sometimes a little pedal action was needed. I had told her that previously, but she thought she only needed to give it gas after it had started. Anyway, when she got home, I got an ear full because I didn't let her take the cell phone. I mean for about thirty minutes. My answer?I told you a policeman would be there should you need one. She is talking to me again today. Have fun, Phil
