John,

So who do you think wins the statewide manual recounts of undervotes? And will they get it done on time? And will the US SC reverse the FL decision? And will the legislators electors trump the FL SC's electors. And if it goes to the Senate, who will Gore vote for as the tie breaker (well at least you can answer one question)?

I'm looking forward to seeing Jim's answer. He has already reversed himself on this issue at least once, and I won't be surprised to see him do it again this afternoon.

If it is ever completed, I believe Bush has a better chance. The most heavily Democratic counties (Broward and Palm Beach, Volusia) have been counted, as have been proportionally more Democrat parts of the Dade county. What's left favors Bush, if the undervotes go proportionally to each candidate.

Where the hell the FL Supreme court came up with this one is beyond me. Nothing in the law says that only undervotes should be counted. They just made silly new law.
Not only that but they overturned a judge that listened to two days of testimony. Not only does this look biased, it looks stupid. By trying to look unbiased they look even more stupid by simply allowing just undervotes to be counted statewide in disputed counties...
The USSC has to be really rolling their eyes on this one.

Well, that's where I thought is was going all along but just hoping it would end sooner. I've been informed the new Senators will be sworn in on Jan 3.

And after it goes to the Senate and Gore breaks the tie, it goes to the House where the Republicans will disagree with the Senate. And then it goes to the Chief Executive of the State of FL to decide which electors are the ones that should count. And what do you suppose he will say? And then what????
