I'm not mad either. This reminds me of a power dive in a jet, with the ground coming toward you at Mach 1. The whole Constitutional system is going to be put to the test. Most of the population probably would not like the amount of power granted to elected officials if they knew the details of what the Constitution said.

I'm not actually angry. I just read the opinion, and I am amazed at the arrogance demonstrated by the majority opinion. Wells basically said in his dissent that the court was incorrect in over-ruling Sauls, and that he could not disagree more with the majority opinion. I expect the US SC to slap these judicial activists with no hesitation. The negative for Bush is that the recounts will start in the meantime. Yet, it is truly unknown what a statewide recount might yield. The opinion, all things considered, is not the victory that Gore needed to guarantee victory. He needed the recount to be limited to Miami-Dade. PR wise, it keeps him above water until Monday or so. LoF
