<The first block diagram in

viahardware.com

shows the Athlon/Duron link to North Bridge as 200MHz FSB.
F@cking sh!t pathetic. Sorry. >

100MHz FSB is not great but it isn't that bad given this is a low end part.

Someone this morning was asking if this part has PowerNow! support. That is a lot more important from my view point.

Re: 266 MHz FSB on KM133

This is a low end chipset aimed at the Duron. Duron is not going to 266 MHz until the Athlon moves higher, which will be some time yet.

Intel has proven that segmentation is a good marketing ploy. The last thing AMD wants is someone selling Athlons plugged into boards that cripple the processor's performance. When the Athlon is 266 FSB exclusively they will have the equivalent of the Celeron/Pentium segmentation.

Ali,

re: <shows the Athlon/Duron link to North Bridge as 200MHz FSB.>

It seems viahardware site may have copied the KM133 block diagram from the KM133 document at the VIa's site which I believe was not updated after a cut&paste. The table presented in VIa's KM133 product spec sheet contains the following -

Flexible 66/100/133MHz | Optimizes the performance of a complete
Front Side Bus Settings | range of AMD Athlon™ and Duron™processors
| running at a variety of FSB speeds.
