It wasn't enough for the Stupremes to have the entire nation witness the Varsity slap their diapered bottoms, very gently, I might add, with the "vacate and explain" ruling. Now, the Stupes seem to have ignored that ruling (that puts Bush back up by 937 votes or so) and continue to make a "pile of law" in a fly by night fashion which would embarass a first year law student preparing for Moot Court (that's a trainee session in law school, folks).

The Supes will have to give the Stupes a good smacking now. It reminds me of the old story of the man and his mule who were toiling up a dusty road when the mule just flat out stopped and wouldn't move. After pulling on the tether a couple of times, the man took out a 2 X 4 and whacked the animal across the face pretty damn hard. A lady passing in a car saw this and stopped.

"Sir, I'm going to report you to the Humane Society."

"What for?"

"Why, you're very cruel to that animal."

"No, I'm not. I'm very gentle. In fact, I always reason with him when he gets stubborn."

"Sir, you are a blackguard and a liar. I saw you just brutalize the animal."

"You did?"

"Yes. With that piece of wood. How can you say you only 'reason' with him?"

"Oh that. Shucks, I have to use that to get his attention. THEN I reason with him."

So, I ask you, what are the Supes going to have to do to get the ATTENTION of the Stupes?

Funny days we live in.

Here's the Kodiak bet (I been wrong so many times once more won't hurt my reputation). Al Gore will never be president of the U.S. because we won't let the courts choose our president. It may get ugly, it may take the Florida legislature and ruin a lot of political lives, but Algore will never sit in the White House as C-in-C.

(OT)Great post, and you could also have mentioned the 1000's of alleged illegal votes by felons that were apparently counted, which I understand were overwhelmingly Democrats!
