Several things are unclear, one of which is if Gore can cast the deciding Senate vote.

That's true, but other than that, I can't help but be impressed at the masterpiece that the US constitution has proven to be.

FL legislature appoints R. electors
FL SC gets recounts and order FL SOS to appoint D. electors
US House of Rep. chooses R. electors
US Senate choose D. electors
FL Chief Executive chooses the final electors

The senate would choose the VP. I'm not sure that Leiberman would want to be Bush's VP.
