but judges have historically demonstrated that they are more impartial than legislators and members of the executive branch.

One should expect legislators and execs to be in a partisian fashion. They are elected to promote an agenda. Judges are to be selected to administer justice. Ideally justice is blind. When it is not, it is they that have failed the system. The burden is on them.

The FL SC should have sought unanimity. The US SC has maintained it's integrity. The FL SC, in the opinion of many, has not.
