If The West Never Intended On Being Part Of Canada....

And acting as equal partners in this confederation...

Or participating in the Cultural Prospective of a Canada.. from sea to shining sea....why does it accept these inconveniences in the first place?

The west has been more than an equal partner to the "cause" of confederation and its bastard offspring "nationalism" with resources, capital and social accommodation among others.

>I>Would it not be more fulfilling to set up the fences at the Ontario - Manitoba boarder ,let each region fend for itself, and enshrine agreements on industry, trade, language and defence as a matter of common interest?

Yes

Is the West living in a cloud of apprehension?

......or is the west living in a fog.....trying to see what could be ahead?

Does the West feel violated by the infringement upon their natural state of affairs and seek alternatives or wish to gravitate to indifference towards the East, now that their Great White Hope has been defeated?

Defeated????? Perhaps said defeat is a blessing in disguise.......after all who would want to associate publicly with those that would support liars, thieves, child pornographer sympathizers, amnesty granters for killers, destroyers of socialized medicine (the sacred cow has been bled for all it's worth), CBC preservationists, and destroyers of family values.

What would you propose?

I propose to follow your direction as in your fourth paragraph.......except, perhaps the border should be drawn down the center of Manitoba.
