Dear QS: I only scanned this thread for yesterday, I did not see anyone comment on what I would feel is incredible volume. Frankly, I am surprised it didnt drop even more with that kind of volume. Does everyone suppose all that volume is due only to this RUMOR regarding accounting issues? I find that hard to believe as to get this kind of volume requires institutional selling, surely they are not that dumb. Anyone got any other thoughts? JDN

qwik. make a note to self. the stock market discounts THE FUTURE. if u wait and tell your clients AFTER a company warns, u lose. if u do it BEFORE, your clients have a CHANCE to win. funny how simple that is. would u rather have them do it AFTER suncom warns, as everyone else will? jeesh. do u think all these companies who warn are stupid? do u think suncom is so superior that they will NEVER be surprised? u are a deluded. u r deluded, but not thirsty.

Sanford Bernstein excerpt you cite says that Sun Microsystems will do great business near term, I take exception with their point that the comparisons in the future will be tougher. What about the addition of the low-end server appliance business income coming out of the Cobalt acquisition? What about the additional ramp up of the storage business? I agree that the server business will be much more competitive (Hp and IBM) but SUN MICROSYSTEMS has always "kicked Ass" in the high end server business Plus, Sun has created markets for themselves in servers due to their concommitant software solutions for vertical markets.

I feel better about Bernstein now. People have been voicing such fears for years, yet Sun's growth has accelerated. Of course there will be ups and downs some time in the future. But have you ever read the fairy tale "The Three Sillies?"

JMHO.

Seems like he covered all the bases. I guess that's what
analysts are paid to do -- make it so no matter *what*
happens in the future, they'll be able to say they called
it correctly. Why people read these folks, I don't know.
