Compared to an all-knowing God, they are.

If you put a bowl of candy in easy reach of your children and tell them not to touch it, and leave the room, or pretend to leave the room, what exactly do you expect will happen? Adam and Eve as described in the Bible were newly made- they had no experience and were ignorant. Exactly where was the teaching that would have taught them to obey? We can teach obedience even to dogs- but it doesn't come NATURALLY does it? No. So if they had no knowledge of good and evil how the Heck were they supposed to know what would happen if they ate from the tree? If I tell my three year old not to stick a fork in the light socket and I tell him he will die or be hurt if he does this- then I gave him a fork and sit him near the socket, I am an IDIOT. Because a three year old has NO conception of death and a limited conception of hurt. Not only that my three year old has a very limited conception of good and bad- but at LEAST he has some. Adam and Eve had none.

Is God an even bigger idiot? Apparently so.

Not only that but God leaves someone IN the garden who DOES know about good and evil. And he lets his two little innocent and ignorant creations bump into this creature and THEN he blames THEM for being led astray. EXCUSE ME? Let's talk about negligence. Let's talk about Godly neglect. I think God needs to be turned over to galactic social services, if this story is true. But of course it probably isn't.
