FLORIDA JUSTICE ISN'T JUST BLIND, IT'S DEAF & DUMB
Saturday,December 9,2000

By STEVE DUNLEAVY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IF we have a tragic revisitation of a political Gettysburg, we have to look no further than that gang of rogue impostors in the Florida Supreme Court.
"This court has given us a calamity . . . tragic and unfortunate," said Frank Keating, the Republican governor of Oklahoma.

"It has the marks of a constitutional crisis. It's messy, nasty and regrettable."

Keating told us pretty much what all of us really knew about the Florida Supreme Court.

It's a liberal activist bench, seven judges, all appointed by Democrats, who have jumped through hoops for Al Gore.

They took no notice of the Florida secretary of state, Katherine Harris, who was elected by the people, rather than appointed like those judges are.

They took no notice of the legally elected body in the Florida state Legislature; no notice of the certification deadline of Nov. 14.

And they took no notice of the U.S. Supreme Court, the highest court in the land, which last week virtually told them they should all go back to law school.

"It is a thumb in the eye to the U.S. Supreme Court," Keating told Fox News Channel.

What more could these bumbling bums do to steal the election from George W. Bush?

"This has seriously undermined the legitimacy of whoever becomes the president," Judge Andrew Napolitano, a constitutional expert, was saying.

But let's go back to this very ugliest of 31 days.

This Florida Supreme Court gave Gore everything he wanted, an extension for a hand count.

Miami-Dade County said they couldn't do it in time. Game, set and match.

Palm Beach County couldn't finish it even when they were given more time.

And Broward County finished their recount under a completely different standard of recounting by looking at "pregnant chads."

It was as if that monster Slobodan Milosevic was redefining the democracy of the land of the free and the home of the brave.

This Supreme Court in Florida is nothing but a flimsy extension of the left wing of the Democratic Party.

They even gave partial recounts to the tune of 383 votes to Al Gore. In straight-out, oversimplified bold facts, they have in one fell swoop made one person's vote count more than others.

What kind of cockamamie democracy was divined by these morons?

What is most outrageous is that they have ordered a recount of undervotes . . . scrappy, mauled ballots that have been recounted in some precincts as many as five times because the idiot who voted didn't know how to do it.

This is not Flori-duh's finest hour and the country will be under supreme suffering because of this arrogant and idiotic decision.
