James--Legislatures pass new laws that supersede old laws every day they meet. There's nothing sacred about laws on the books--what is needed is fairness, and that means manually counting every vote to judge voter intent. Why is that so terrible??? Why is it so terrible that the FL SC is ordering the manual recounting of every "non-vote" in every FL county, both Republican and Democrat? I'm willing to live with the result--whether it favors my candidate or not--are you? And, if not, why not? _____________________ This exposes much of what is wrong with what is going on in Florida. The election MUST be decided by the laws that were in effect on the day of the election. They cannot simply pass a new law because they want to, or think that it is the "right thing to do". If we could just stick with the law and if a re-count is necessary, then re-count according to the law in effect on election day (i.e., dimples are not counted). Why is following the law too much to ask?
