Dave,

Good points. The addition of SOES has increased the likelihood of a fast fill from BE when the order goes to Nasdaq, but with the 17 sec refresh delay, orders can still sit for a long time before executing, or being cancelled. During this time, they are invisible to the rest of the world, so there is no chance of an alternative execution. I often give SOES a try when I see one of the MMs alone at the inside market with all the ECNs backed off. Since I mostly trade 100 shares, I get filled quite often. IB needs to fix the SOES quote line to show inside market quotes so that when you click bid or ask, the correct price gets loaded.

I had not noticed that the rotation was gone, though I did have the feeling everything was going to ISLAND from BE. When other ECNs are in play, I prefer to use them to avoid partial fills.

Now as for UTPs like MWSE, I have NEVER gotten a fill from MWSE. Either they are incredibly slow executing (which I doubt), or IB simply does not route orders there. That is also true of the ECNs IB does support like ATTN. Have you ever been filled by one of these?

Dan
