Sure, no problem. You said that the legislature could conjure up a law after the election to allow the candidates to offer/accept a statewide hand re-count after the deadline had expired. The point is, that is patently illegal. The election must be decided by laws that are in place prior to the votes being cast. That simple legal obligation has been overlooked since November 7th by the Gore team and the Florida Supreme Court.
