Charles, I do stand corrected on this matter. I received the e-mail of the quote and sent it without benefit of the book. I also went to Barnes and Noble and purchased the book. I could not find the quote therein. However, in discussion, and according to the book the edition we bought is a second edition published by Plume Publishing. The first edition was published by Penguin. I was told by another poster that Gore made revisions in the second edition. In his foreword in the book we have he disclaims any material revisions. Then the question is what he would consider a material revision. The bottom line is this supposed quote may very well be a hoax. For publishing it without confirming I sincerely apologize.
