Depy, the Florida Extreme Court appears to have removed the significance of the term, "Deadline" from the Florida state code and from its own jurisprudence. They already changed their own re-count deadline by saying the WP Beach post-deadline votes should be added, and starting up the Miami-Dade recount. Statutory references to dates, time, and deadlines are now re-written to say, "whenever the court wishes." The Florida legislature's will means nothing.

Interestingly, Gore supporters say that since the undervotes have not been looked at by people, this is the first count, not a re-count. If so, whoever loses should be entitled to a statutory re-count. I'm sure that if it's Bush, Gore will say that it's too late, the DEADLINE has passed.
