But data from Palm Beach and Broward Counties, the only two that have done full hand recounts, shows that when ballots were examined by hand Bush gained more votes than Gore.

Pretty much as was anticipated and it confirms the REAL reason that Broward halted its recount, because they had only gleaned 150+ votes from the democratic precincts and they were getting ready to start counting predominantly republican areas.

I mean.. the odds are just against Gore gaining more votes when most of Florida's counties voted Republican and we already have a good handle on how democratic precincts in those 3 counties sized up from previous recount efforts.

But Gore still wants to bring us to the brink of a constitutional crisis.

Regards,

Ron

It's strange that that article claims that the hand recounts in Palm Beach County and Broward County benefited Bush, because everyone else has been saying that they benefited Gore. For example, the following CNN article says that Gore picked up 567 net votes in the Broward County recount, and the Florida Supreme Court Opinion says that Gore picked up 215 net votes in Palm Beach County.
