Ali, I think we went through this once before, the 66/100/133 seems to indicate that Via just did some cut and paste from the PM133 release. This doesn't inspire confidence, of course. But on the other hand, there doesn't seem to be any reason that Via wouldn't include whatever circuitry updates necessary to support 133/266 bus in a new design. Who knows?

Cheers, Dan.

Ali,

re: < "Flexible 66/100/133MHz Front Side Bus Settings With a range of FSB speed up to 133MHz, the VIA proSavage KM133 chipset allows flexibility and performance to optimally support Intel® Pentium® III, Celeron and VIA Cyrix® III processors." >

They had the KM133 document up on their site just two days ago when this chipset was released. It looks like they generated KM133 product spec page from an existing chipset's page, and failed to make all the necessary corrections to it.

Anyone know who made the motherboard inside the Compaq or HP made to order Thunderbird PC's? Are they over-clockable?

I thought that 1 GHz Thunderbird requires 300W power supply. I read that the Compaq boxes are much less than that.

Also, both Compaq and HP only offer ATA66 7200 RMP hard drives. Compaq has an optional ATA100 controller card. I guess this means the MB does not support ATA100. I called and ask the salesperson and she said it helps the 7200 RPM drive runs faster. She does not know if it helps the ATA66 drives. I think the card is good only if I add an ATA100 drive. In other word, it is a waste. Am I correct?
