I agree.

When you value personal freedom, private property, states rights, etc.. you have to live with the possibility that some people will have a set of values that you are totally opposed to. In those cases you can always vote with your feet. Offsetting that are the advantages of freedom where the majority or politically fashionable crowd is simply being stupid.

I think slavery is an area that the founding fathers were brain dead about. It's totally inconsistent with freedom. It should have been illegal from day one. The fact that a few of them owned slaves may have had something to do with their lapse in functioning brain matter.
