Both Ginsberg and Renquist have a lot of health issues, Renquist has back problems and has held on in the hope of a conservative president to replace him, Ginsberg has had treatments for cancer. Renquist will step down during Bush's presidency and Ginsberg will likely have no choice.

John,

who are the three supreme court justices that may retire?

My guess is Stevens, Renquist and possibly O'Connor.

If Renquist retires, W will get to appoint the Chief Justice. I guess Scalia has the inside track, with Thomas having an outside chance.

Joe

Stephens is pretty old, then Rehnquist, Kennedy, O'Connor age wise I think.

When Stephens, Kennedy, O'Connor are replaced, all swing votes are gone.

Rehnquist, Scalia, and Thomas and Bush's three replacements will solidify a conservative court.

Roe v. Wade will then be overturned.
