This whole ordeal has IMHO boiled down to a game of Rock Paper Scissors...

First, Katherine Harris, Bush's Election Retriever (woof) made it painfully clear from the get-go that she would use her office power to obfusicate the recount process without limitation. Her foot-dragging and open hostility to the process appeared to have paid off. PAPER.

But, hold the phone, the FSSC ruled the Election Retriever ("woof") did indeed abuse her power, and extended the recount deadline the Election Retriever ("woof") tried so hard to maintain. And of course the FSSC just ruled 40,000+ undervotes not yet recounted did in fact have to be recounted. Now while the vote was 4-3, the Justices are all Democratic appointees but one. So at the very least you among the Right the perception that the FSSC had a Democratic bias. SCISSORS cut PAPER.

But, hold the phone again, the USSC has called for the recount mandated by the FSSC halted until a hearing Monday at 11am. The vote was 5-4 along predictable party lines (Gee, wonder which way Clarance "LUMPY" Thomas voted). The whiff of Dem bias on the FSSC suddenly becomes IMHO a stentch of a GOP bag job in the USSC. I predict the identical 5-4 decision after the "hearing." ROCK breaks SCISSORS.

Bottom line, it's all boiled down to which party has owned the bureaucrat or court involved in the process. This, not the "real" result of the FL election (even after putting aside the votes for Buchanan) is what will decide the election. Bye.
