Hi Cobalt,

I am planning on taking my kids to picket the Naval Conservatory (Vice President's Mansion) tomorrow just so they can understand how important free speech is. Any suggestions for what we should put on our signs?

Regarding those signs...Last week my husband was in DC visiting the FCC and took time out to go down to the Naval Observatory and protest, be part of a mob, what have you.

His advice is "WRITE BIG".

There is a come and go group of Bush supporters - they leave signs for others when they leave so even if say - one of the children does not have a sign - you will probably find one available to use.

There were people from all over the country there - water softener salesmen from Ohio, Vascular surgeons from California (they came a day early to a medical conference in DC to join the protesters), folks from New Jersey, an elderly couple from Maryland...

He was so thoughtful as to call me on his cell phone so I could hear the chants and slogans.

This is from a man who has never joined a mob before... (wearing a custom suit of course).

Since you are taking your children, I will not propose what I think really ought to go on the signs Gore sees. His reckless disregard for the best interests of the country is appalling to me. JLA
