A very intelligent political hack, but he is an economic lightweight who was able to deliver votes for Reagan and George Sr. He did not like Volker because Tall Paul would not "play ball with the law" and change monetary policy depending upon what was best for the next election. Weathercock Greenspan is probably his cup of tea. I loved the hedge fund interview, especially the mention of DVIN, which I bought on Friday without knowing these guys were about to be interviewed. It is better to be lucky than smart. <g> But $2 cash for a co. selling near a buck discounts a lot of stupidity in management. The stupidity may well be there is spades, but I'm willing to take that chance at this price. What I didn't like was their flim-flamming their performance record this year. The guy asks how you did, you tell him the number and then explain it. They never did belch out the number, which makes me nervous. I have to admit that putting results in the best possible light was one of my specialties when I managed money. The simple fact is, it is impossible to be #1 for every reporting period. The biggest dope among your competition may be "shootin' at some food, and up from the ground comes a bubblin' crude, Texas tea, black gold." <g> He will eventually get slaughtered, but, for that period, he wins. So, you report on the periods or the measurement area where you are number one, not where you are number two or three. But for these guys not to mention a number at all makes me think there was no way to make a nylon purse out of their sow's ear, much less a silk purse. Still, this interview had more meat about more obscure names than any in a long time.
