Can we even count the ballots?

There's no way the "winner" is going to have any legitimacy whatsoever. The more I read the more I realize that a machine count, a hand count, or even a magnifying glass count is not going to lead to any clarity at all. This is turning into all the "powers-that-be" in the country simply fastening their holsters and looking around for their nearest six-shooters. Trying to resolve the Florida situation by any "rule of law" is now next to impossible.

This is a mess and it's not going to get any better. The flaw is not the counting process. Rather, it is the way the election was run in the first place. It shows me more than anything to date how out technological society has outpaced the humanity we have at our disposal to run it. As a society we have blindly put our faith in technological systems over which we have very little knowledge. "Punch it in." "Pop it up."

The truth is that the old adage, "garbage in, garbage out," is the rule of the day with respect to this laughable election between two essentially laughable candidates.

re: the FL SC ignored the highest court in the land anyhow.

No they didn't. A decision was remanded to them for clarification. They redrew their ruling to be solely an interpretation of existing FL election law. For the Feds to stop the counting before they hear arguments and rule is wrong.

... Mezz - It's all a buncha BU**SH**! :)
