It is in the eyes of the beholder. Most of us felt the Fl. supreme court was the one who, unfortunately, displayed partisan, activist tendencies. They forced the US supreme court to act to uphold law and the separation of powers. In my opinion, the US supreme court had no choice but to protect the constitution and rein in the rogue Fl. supreme court.

Even if all six million ballots in Florida were manually counted, we still wouldn't know what "the truth" is because we will never agree on the standard whereby a ding on a piece of paper becomes interpreted as a vote. If Gore cared about "the truth" and "the will of the voter" he wouldn't 1. have tried to keep out military overseas ballots; 2. have tried to throw out innocently cast ballots in Seminole and Martin Counties; 3. have selectively asked for recounts in only three counties in Florida.
