Sometimes, perception is reality. There is a perception amongst many millions of citizens that the US Supreme Court has intervened in this election for political purposes - to help the candidacy of George W Bush. There is a perception that if the manual recount were allowed to continue that Al Gore would win the electoral vote as well as the popular vote. There is and will be a perception that the presidency of Bush is illegitimate. Nothing that Bush partisans can say will change that. It will be a huge distraction from tending to the affairs of the public.

Dear Sunshadow: OK, to set the record straight, the Palm Beach Post this morning showed IN WRITING by COUNTY the NET VOTE PICKUPS during the count. The total NET was 13 for Gore. Even the Palm Beach Post who is totally Dem. Biased asked the question, where did Bois get his 58 vote figure which of course HE DID NOT detail by county so cant be checked. I remind all this is without ANY consideration of the 2,600 military ballots which WILL BE COUNTED by FEDERAL COURT ORDER. JDN
