I don't think Bush had much choice but to distance himself from the election for the last month, do you?

Bush sjould have gone out touring the country, meeting people and acting Presidential. Instead he chose to hide at his ranch.

That tells me a lot about his personality. He is not comfortable with people, like Clinton or Gore.
