Cobalt, I'm not sure how having to write down the SSN digits helps or hurts... I sure would not want that on my voter, form, however. Whatever the case, the one batch of ballots contested by the democrats that I learned about (maybe the majority) had to do with something that was missing on the form itself (but apparently not essential to the voting process?). I agreed with the judges in those cases -- the voters should not be cheated out of their votes because of a form error. That is perhaps why Gore has stayed out of that fight, directly. However, he IS in that fight morally because he didn't comment on it -- he should have come out publicly and said that those particular ballots SHOULD be counted because of the clear voter intent. Yes, he's also a hypocrite. What really surprises me is that parties control the absentee ballots. What a recipe for voter fraud!
