Morning JW...

The first company sounds like VRSN - has on a number of occassions been refered to the MSFT of the net... leader in internet security...

The second maybe ARMHY - based in Cambridge England..

ARM Holdings plc designs RISC (reduced instruction set computing) microprocessors and related technology and software and sells development systems to enhance the performance cost-effectiveness and power-efficiency of embedded applications. ARM offers a range of processor cores including integer CPU cures and integer CPU cores integrated with memory system solutions. For the nine months ended 9/30/00, revenues rose 64% to L70.9 million. Net income totalled L20.6 million, up from L7.4 million. Results reflect an increase in license revenues and gross margin.

The fourth does sound like NTAP...

don't know much about the other two...

Regards....

No. 1 could be ENTU and their PKI public-key infrastructure.

No. 3- I know the company but do not recall the name yet. They test a web site before it is public by blasting the site with tens of millions of hits in a very short time, report the weak spots and repeat testing until the web site is flawless. Prevents the embarrassment of a crash like happened to Victoria's Secret initially.

Hi Jim Willie, thought number 1 might be VeraSign (VRSN) but their annual sales do not appear high enough. Yahoo's profile - "Verisign, Inc. is a provider of Internet-based trust services, including authentication, validation and payment, needed by websites, enterprises, electronic commerce service providers and individuals to conduct trusted and secure electronic commerce and communications over wired and wireless Internet protocol (IP) networks. The Company has established strategic relationships with industry leaders, including BT, Cisco, Microsoft, Netscape, RSA Security and VISA, to enable widespread utilization of its digital certificate services and to assure their interoperability with a wide variety of applications and network equipment. The Company has used its secure online infrastructure to issue over 215,000 of its website digital certificates and over 3.9 million of its digital certificates for individuals."

Another PKI suggestion would be Baltimore Technologies.

Wonder in these crazy times if eggnog consumption isn't affecting our election process, or at least the politicians <G>. Also, have you noticed how many more people seem to be joining me in the lurker's section on the right hand side of the porch? tim
