- "Why mention the name of a stock when people sit ready to pounce on and criticize every statement he makes." Who needs that grief. So now we get diluted content and the SILENCE.

Yes, why should Kurt Warner or Jim Garcia ever toss a football again as after every game the radio shows that rehash the games for hours on end have callers saying they are terrible players unless they have a perfect game?

or

Why should Tiger Woods ever hit another golf ball as he might shank one and everyone will laugh?

or

Spielberg should never do another movie as he might do a movie like the Hook rather than "Saving Private Ryan" as the critics will tear him apart: From Amazon: "Steven Spielberg's deeply flawed but sporadically fun.....

Clearly, if what you say is true, Bob is just demonstrating that he doesn't even want to step to the plate and try to get in the same league as these other greats.

Too bad, many used to enjoy his show.

Heard a funny one from Jim Jorgensen this AM. A caller asked him about QQQ at present levels. His reply was a riot:

"They are like a bridge jumper on a bungie cord"!

Jim gave buy levels for two stocks on his portfolio right on the air too... One is MSFT and he doesn't have it on a hold after a 50% plus drop - he's buying. Here is a link that tells how you can listen to Jim Jorgensen live on the net.. suite101.com

"Salary for Hours Worked is a matter between employer and employee. The generosity is to the listening audience. I should think that would be obvious."

I do not get this line of thinking. If Bob is getting paid for doing the show, and is promoting his own self interest with the newsletter, then where does the generosity come in? Isnt he acting primarily in his own self interest, which just happens to benefit the audience?

"It's not a matter of legality. It's a matter of support and respect of the radio host's wishes in exchange for his generosity."

You are very naive if you believe every member of a audience is going to support and respect the radio host's wishes. Bob's enterprise is a fairly large business. Bob has a world wide show that reaches people from widely different cultures. In this environment, legality has to be the governing factor...Not some warm and fuzzies...

I have listened to Bob for many years. He has always had critics. You cannot be a market timer without expecting people to measure your performance, hang on your every word, praise you when you succeed and criticize when you fail.

Pete we agree on many things. You did state "My perception he's reached the point where there's nothing in it for him to continue the radio show with useful content but lack of support, criticism, and lack of respect. " I one problem that has dogged him, respect. It is a two way street. I was always turned off by Bob calling people names. Bad news bears is a generic term that does not bother me. The specific names like Flip Flop, Honey Bear, Grizzly Bear, etc. aimed at specific people always bothers me. I guess you get what you give in this world. I wish Bob the best in his retirement. I know it will be enjoyable for him to spend more time with the family and the links. There are plenty of other willing people to take his place on the radio.
