Monty, I really like you...I mean it!
You don't hold anything back. You are very straight forward.

I don't live in the USA; that is why the US election is not that big of a deal for me.

I guess you take everything I say very seriously. This is basically a message board on the market moves and that is why I try to make comments that connect the market to current politics. It is obvious from the way the market has been trading lately.

I still believe Gore would be the better president. You have not said anything to change my mind but I am always willing to learn.

If you want, just don't bother commenting on my political views...maybe just stick to criticizing my stock picks. My stock picks are right on the money. Nasdaq is going break towards 3500 very easily in the coming weeks. However, that does not matter to daytraders anyways.

My apologies if I have been raising your blood pressure a little.
Take Care...and try to relax a little.

Unlike so many people, I feel both Gore and Bush would make a reasonably good president. I see nothing glaringly wrong with either. Like tech2000, I'd prefer to see Bush win, because he more closely reflects my views. Having said that, I also must point out that there are many people who share Gore's views, and would prefer to see him occupy the White House. The trouble is, the numbers on both sides are so nearly equal, that it's difficult to know without a doubt who won the election. A wider margin of victory would've overshadowed any and all counting errors, wether by man or machine.

I also realize that many in previous generations have given their blood and their lives defending the our current freedom, nation, and security. They accepted their obligations as citizens, and performed their duty, sometimes at great personal cost. I doubt those same people would be as ready to fight and die defending a few indented bit of paper.

So, my point is, that both men are worthwhile candidates, have practically equal support, and enjoy a victory narrower than any reasonable margin of error. I don't think the difference between them is serious enough to warrant the potentially damaging fallout surrounding the current lawyer/gladiator heroics employed in determining the winner.

I recognize that for each candidate, the peronal costs and rewards are tremendous. For this reason, I don't think either would be wise to simply give up. I wouldn't.

Also, be aware that the public has a profoundly short attention span. By February, most of today's events will have been long forgotten. TV journalists will move on, and Geraldo will find another axe to grind.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. Clarification ...

I don't claim tech2000 wants a Bush win. I meant that I prefer to see the man who reflects my views win, just as I'm sure T2, like most people, want to see the winning candidate be the person who thinks as they.

I think T2 prefers a Gore win.
