RE:"What purpose would that serve? FL was the only close state which made a difference in the outcome."

Hey, why should FL get a handcount and the rest of the country not get one? Seems there were some other close states...
Now if the whole country just stuck with machine count...that would seem fair wouldn't it? Fair accross all ballots?

Jim

Scumbria,

Allow me to play devil's advocate for a minute (personally I find the election mess commical now)...

So hand count the whole country and be done with it?

What purpose would that serve? FL was the only close state which made a difference in the outcome.

I thought EVERY vote was supposed to count. I personally think all of Florida should have been recounted once by the machines, then hand counted with an agreed upon format for the hand count (i.e. does a dimple count or not)... it would have all been over by now.. Gore would probably have won, but it would have been over...

I'm almost praying for a plane crash or something so I can turn CNN on again.
