People believe that the votes for Gore are more likely to dimple a ballot, leave a chad handging, vote for more than one candidate by mistake etc. Regardless of whether this is true or not, in a count of 40,000 ballots by 300 people can produce lot of errors if the standards are not clear. Even yesterday, in Miami-dade count (out of 4500 counted ballots), Bush got 90, Gore got 52 and 132 were in dispute. If the standard is "clear indication of voter intent", how can there be a dispute ? Obviously, the standard is not good.
