Eric,

But why not recount the "overvotes?" If a ballot shows straight Democratic votes, except for a vote for both Gore and some third party guy, shouldn't we assume that they meant to vote for only Gore?

Also, if dimple means a vote on ballot with no selection, shouldn't they look at all the counted votes as well? What if there are ballots with 1 chad missing + a dimple? Shouldn't the dimple mean a selection, therefore an overvote?
