Dear Tommy Hicks: Truth is our voting system does not provide for this ridiculously close election. We have run the ballots through the machines several times and that is how we count ALL BUT DIMPLED BALLOTS, meaning punched through ballots are counted. The machine reads the ballot by sensing any light coming through a hole. Dimpled ballots are the same as hanging chads generally except that in Broward County they got crazy and using a magnifying glass if they could see EVEN A BUMP on the back of the card indicating pressure on the front, they tended to count it as a vote. What isnt being mentioned by any of the Media is that 2,600 UNCOUNTED military ballots have now been ruled by a FEDERAL COURT to be countable. If they would JUST COUNT THOSE as the court now rules most likely Bush's lead would become large enough all this BS could just be forgotten. Personally, I think it is the MEDIA who wants to stretch this out as long as possible as their ratings are very much improved over it. JDN
