With a perfectly divided electorate, no rational way to determine who got more votes in the end and a perfectly divided Congress whose choice won't be based on merit but rather pure partisanship (i.e. Gore would cast the deciding vote on accepting a slate of Florida electors), it's just as well to let the Supreme Court step in and do what the people, executive and legislative branches can't manage on their own. Then we can call it quits and get on with life. The parade of cliches from inside the Beltway will be as irrelevant as ever to all you good folks who live out in the real world. Remember, it's all just a shell game and you are the suckers walking by on the sidewalk.
