Sir, at Dell you might want to look at both, home and business PCs. the choices are different. For example you cannot [I think] choose a home PC with Win 2000, but the business PCs have that choice. Also check IBM.

Or, go to a small PC shop and have them custom build one.

hi morgan,

i had to go check out dell for myself after reading your post. i think maybe you didn't look in the right places. i found innumerable options everywhere i looked at the dell site.

follow these links:

dell.com

choose a dell dimension, then 'home and office', which takes you here....

dell.com

four different basic models to choose from, so choose xps B....

dell.com

select 'customize and price', select next three options, then click 'configure this system'.....

commerce.us.dell.com

where you shall find an ultra-customization page

i think you'll agree that there are as many different ways to configure a pc at these sites as anyone could want.

let me know what you think

:)

Sir Francis Drake ....

I've reccoed this particular manufacturer to several folks here on SI ...
know 2 who've purchased from them and they both seem to be happy ...

I have a trading buddy who lives close by and between the two of us we build six to ten boxes per year for the past three or four years ....
but, at times I get behind and "need a new one" reaaaaaalll bad and quick ...ggggg
and I've bought four from these folks and have found the tech service to be outstanding as well as the prices verrrrrry good (sometimes cheaper than I can build it) ...

I have NO ties with, nor do I get ANY kickback, rebates OR even a thank you from these folks, but I can recco them ...http://www.cyberpowerinc.com/

lots to choose from and you can even custom modify most units .....

Nemer

ps ...
I have a good friend, he lives couple of miles away and I've had two of his brothers and one of his sons on my payroll in the past whose front and middle names are
Francis Drake ...
he goes by "F D" ..... hehehehe
