Gore's Fate in Hands of Justices He Criticized
Sunday December 10 3:30 PM ET
By Thomas Ferraro

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Al Gore
(news - web sites)'s presidential hopes on Monday
come down to conservative members of the U.S.
Supreme Court (news - web sites) the vice president
targeted with frequent criticism during his election
campaign this year.

At campaign stop after campaign stop, Gore warned ``personal liberties''
would be at stake on Election Day since the next president may appoint up to
four justices, changing the balance of power on the now rightward tilting
nine-member bench.

The justice Gore most frequently singled out for criticism was Antonin Scalia,
a leading force on a number of split court decisions and favorite of
Republican rival George W. Bush (news - web sites).

On Saturday, Scalia voted with the majority in a five-to-four ruling that
delivered a devastating blow to Gore's White House hopes.

Just Fricking disgusting! We've read his hand-out on this thread already.

Freedom means constant change as the will of the people will dictate via pocketbooks and choices. Call that conservatism if you will. Or classic liberalism, if you will. "Liberalism" means unchanging rules laid down which all must follow...price controls...subsidies tied to required acts or laws which dictate and will not change....quotas...unmeetable requirments...stagnancy. Teachers used to get real mad at me when I described these things this way aloud. Well, half of them...Ok, more than half, but not more than half of common folks I meet.

Awww...heck, Freedom Just works,
