Yes, that is most unfortunate. Especially, since the Florida Supreme Court, coupled with some of Florida's lower court decisions, seemed to have ironed everything out as fair as it possibly could be under a principle of inclusiveness of Floridian voters.

Even with the resolution the Florida high court brought, lots of voters were ultimately disenfranchised. However, at least its decision got to a playing field whereby the court was attempting to include votes rather than excluding them. That was good. It really is sad that Bush went whinning to the U.S. Supreme Court, asking it not to count Floridan votes. This, in effect, mucked things up "big-time," as it did appear that Florida had found the solution to the mess it was in, based on the Florida Supreme Court's ruling.
