Do you think that even with these discontinous innovations, we will still need all the computing power in our hands that Intel can innovate as fast as they can? I think so...So I must also think that future software/programs we use will be as great and greater than we can possibly imagine now. The assumption from this would be that Intel has no problem with their future.

Moving to an Internet-centric computing model won't reduce the need for more powerful computers, for sure, but the power will be needed in the server, not the desktop and that is a market where Intel doesn't begin to have the same dominance it does in the desktop market.
