For what it's worth, it seems to me that oracle came under a similar type of pressure very, very recently. It went down almost to 20 on rumor and inuendo. On CNBC I even remember they were saying that "some people" (who, of course, they never identified) think that it could go down to 15. This was only a few weeks ago. Today, ORCL is at 30. (Still well off it's high.)

It seems to me that the timing of the short sellers rumor couldn't have been better if it was planned (which I'm sure it was). Right after the split, when everybody sees Sunw looking cheap psychologically. Start the stock moving downward then and people will really start to panic.

I myself am long both these stocks. Sun I have owned since 1995, and, obviously, am up alot. I admit to feeling shaky myself about what is going on but I'm hanging on.
