Re: I don't think Duron will exceed the top clock speeds of Piii

Neither do I. But Duron will be at 800, 900, and 1GHZ by mid Q1, with Athlon starting a 1+GHZ. The bottom quarter of AMD's production will be centered around 850MHZ, while the top quarter of Intels production is centered around 866. half of Intel's production is Celeron, another quarter is P3s at 800 MHZ and below, leaving the top quarter as 800+ to 1GHZ P3s and 1.3 to 1.6GHZ P4s (in low volume). So AMD's bottom quarter (in terms of production volume) overlaps Intel's top quarter (in terms of production volume).

At least, it will probably be pretty close to this.

Dan
